Close to Berri-UQAM there DaGiovanni on Sainte-Catherine facing the square. On Saint-Denis there is Pizzedelic, le Sila and Paesano among others. In the village Piazetta, la Starga and Diavolo. And the top is not to far west on René-Levesque at Jeanne-Mance le Latini, Schumaher and Pavarotti's favorite.

The temperature at the end of September is about 15 degrees celsius during the day and around 8 at night.

From the Trudeau's airport, the taxi costs $35 flat and take about 20 minutes to reach this establisment. There is also a bus shuttle ($14) that leave the airport every 20 minutes and take 45 minutes to reach bus terminal at 200 meters (or yards) from this establisment.

The underground city start 100 meters from the b&b, there a small shopping mall serve as an apetizer. With the subway line you reach McGill station the heart of shopping district: half dozen malls, large departments stores. Count more than 1500 shops and restaurants to certainly satisfy you.

To get to Gîte Le Simone b&b From Toronto you are arriving on 401 (Ontario) 20 (Québec) Keep going on 20 est (east) Centre-ville (Downtown) From Ottawa you are arriving on 417 (Ontario) 40 (Québec) Arriving near the island of Montreal switch for the 20 Centre-ville You will enter the island by the Galipeau bridge Keep rolling for about 20 kms Then switch to autoroute 720 Centre-Ville When you get closer to the skyscrapers the highway goes underground. Go thru the tunnel (about 2 kms.) Keep slow lane (3rd lane) The first exit off the tunnel is St-Laurent/Berri, take it. Be carefull you will have to cross two merging lanes On that exit keep right for the Berri side. you are now on Saint-Antoine in the old Montreal. The first traffic light is Saint-Denis, There is a statue of a Patriote on Saint-Denis 50 meter north (your left) The second traffic light is Berri, take it to your left. You have to drive on Berri to the fifth traffic light: first is Viger second is René-Levesque third is Sainte-Catherine fourth is deMaisonneuve and fifth, further up, is Ontario street, take it to your right. You getting very close, on Ontario street go pass the first traffic light: Saint-Hubert, the second is Saint-Andre, take it to your right, go down for about 300 meters and Le Simone is there at 1571 on your left. Here you are. You find a map and tourist info at: http://www.pagemontreal.qc.ca/meg/quartierlatin/quartierlatin.html it do not show the exit from highway 720 but consider you arrive at Saint-Antoine and Saint-Denis once you exit the highway you can also get accurate directions from www.mapquest.com

Yes in the street, there is parking in front of parkingmeter (1.50$ per hour, 9am to 9pm monday to saturday, free on sunday). A second zone, west side of the street in front of 1566 to 1624 for about 12 car is free and you can park all the time except monday and thursday between 1pm and 2pm. There is also a pay parking acroos the street at the end of the alley, it is 17$ for 24 hours. Beware reserved space for resident, zone 15, in less then 30 minutes you will get a 42$ parking ticket. There is also a reserved unloading zone in front of the b&b but still keep an eye on the car to avoid ticket.

Yes you can bring small domestic animal as long as there clean and not noisy. You have to be ready to clean after them if necessary and you are responsible for any damage your animal could cause to the b&b.

No, risk of steal are small.

List of questions Would it be possible to eat the continental breakfast before 08:00?

Of course, just tell us what time you will get up, and will make sure the coffee machine will have coffee ready and all the breakfast elements are available. You just have to serve yourselves and be carefull not to disturbed the other guest sleep.

No, rooms do not have telephone. There is telephones in the kitchen, internet room and smokink lounge, that phone line is for the guest free of charge for local call and available for long distance call with prepaid calling card. Guests can also received incoming call, for that matter they have to give also their room number. That telephone line: (514) 529-8730.

The old city is about 10 minutes walk from the b&b. The center of the old part, Notre-Dame church is about 20 minutes walk. In taxi this would be around 7$.

There is no official bondaries, some will say we are in the village, i prefer to say that we are at the western edge of it in a more neutral area nevertheless the first gay club is less than 200 meters away. Consider the area gay friendly as is this place...but we still a family oriented establisment: not a nightclubbers hangout...but during major gay event our clientele seems to be mostly nightclubbers!

The suite is not available from July 28th to August 5th 2006. For summer 2007 it is available from June 1st to August 31st at 3000$ per month.

At less then 100 steps at the "dépanneur" (convenient store) there is an atm related to the Royal Bank (visa). At the corner of Sainte-Catherine and Saint-Hubert, 250 steps away, National Bank (mastercard) has 4 atm.

Small ventilated room with toilet (water closet) sink and shower.

Yes the kitchen is available between noon and 10p.m. to prepare a meal. You can use the b&b pots and pans, you have to wash them after use. You can use b&b plates, glasses and silverware, you have to place them in the dishwasher after use. You have to clean up kitchen after your meal.

List of questions When do we have to pay and what form of payment do you accept ?

Upon arrival during your registration we will ask for payment. We do so to minimize administration and offer you the best rate in town. Would you have to shorten your stay we will refund you the difference minus one day charge. You can pay in cash (Canadians and US dollars), in travellers check in canadians dollars, by credit card visa or master card or by debut card.

MacDonald is 200 steps away on Sainte-Catherine corner Saint-Christophe. At place Dupuis a dozen fastfood counter offer a varity of food on business hours. In the hallway to the metro a restaurant sell a dozen type of pizza by the slice: cheap, good and popular.

You can cancel without charge 7 days or more prior to arrival or less than 7 days prior to arrival if you have exceptionnal circonstances. We will take the equivalent of one night plus taxes on your credit card if you cancel within 7 days of your arrival whitout exceptionnal circonstances or if you do not show up.

We are at the main métro (subway) station Berri-UQAM. At that station take the Saint-Hubert/Place Dupuis exit, once outside walk to your right to the curb, cross de Maisonneuve boulevard we are 20 yards away from that corner at 1571 Saint-André.

Once you register and pay you have keys of your room and the front door. You can come in and out has you please but between 11pm and 8am we ask you to be prudent and make no noise.

Except room 2 and 5 for witch you have to go in the hallway for the private bathroom, all room have an ensuite bathroom.

No, as a matter of fact you can climb in bus 15 west at the corner of de maisonneuve, 20 yards from here and come down 20 yard from the entrance of the main building of Concordia. Or walk is about 25 minutes.

Almost 2 kms, a foot it is 20 to 30 minutes walk, in metro or bus 10 to 15 minutes (count 3 to 5 minutes walk in bus and 5 to 10 in metro), in taxi almost all the time between 5 to 15 minutes

No but there are only two floors above ground level.
